Paradox in most recreational basketball leagues. Everyone wants to win and does everything to win, except for the winning practice.
Most recreational basketball teams do not have any offensive games and those who usually play together in high school and only run the games they know. The latter are all right, the former are likely to have to compete outside a game day to pass through some games.
I'm not saying that the team has to go out and practice 4 hours a day, but a good practice that simply plays against both man and zone D will really help your team succeed. So instead of just running guys and hoping to open, they will be able to find the seams D or create their slots for their teammates and the results will be exponential.
If there is someone in your team who played any organized ball, teach them a simple human attack scheme and a simple zone attack system. If you do not have a team playing a ball or if no one remembers the games, You Tube is a great source for a short presentation of the game. If you enter "Youth Basketball Attack" or some iteration in the You Tube search engine, you will find many easy-to-learn offenses. (I suggest "youth," as the plays usually run and remember more easily.)
If you're playing, remember that you probably only play one hour a week, so do not try and find the most complicated. Any crime you have to move has to find it, so look for one that it looks like is easy to remember and fun to run and go.
